How To Remove Gel Nail Polish At Home

Two weeks of a chip-free and a glossy mani sadly doesn’t last forever. When your gel nail manicure is looking chipped or overgrown, it’s time to take them off and move on to your next mani. But, unlike regular varnish, you can’t simply remove gel polish with drugstore bought nail varnish remover. What you need? A *much* stronger acetone soak. Don’t be put off though! We’ve got an easy solution that you can do in the comfort of your own home.

Introducing: Nail’s Inc. Gel Less Remover Pot. This holy grail of a product is conditioning acetone nail polish removal kit that has everything you need included in the box. Whether you’re wearing a gel manicure from the salon or your own at home nail polish, this revolutionary removal pot will remove any traces of gel, acrylics, LED and even UV lacquer without damaging the natural nail.

The first thing you’ll need to do is remove your top coat, which is what keeps the nail polish from chipping. This will make removing the gel nail polish much quicker once this layer has been removed. Grab the nail file provided with the removal kit and buff away the top coat. You should have nails that look almost matte and chalk-like. Be careful not to file too close to your natural nails in order to prevent damage.

Get your removal pot ready and soak your gel polished manicure in the acetone for 5-10 minutes. Depending on how strong your natural nails are, or how resistant the gel nail varnish formula is (UV and LED nail lacquer will have a different formula)  – you may need to soak into the acetone for another 2 minutes.

After you’ve soaked your nails, the gel polish should peel off without needing to harshly scrape the varnish off. Make sure to wash off any excess acetone and once your natural nail has been restored, do one last buff with the nail file provided in the kit.

And finally, it’s time to give your nails some well deserved TLC. We recommend this Nail & Cuticle Care Pen, infused with Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E, by CND Vinylux and OPI Nail Envy Original Nail Strengthener Formula to help prevent nails from splitting.

…And you’re done! You’ll be painting your next mani in no time (although we recommend you give your nails a breather for a week or two before reaching for the varnish).
