Pairing your fave creamy nude with a POP of neon is everything this year and we love the look. On the other hand you may be thinking ‘forget that’ and want to go all in. Painting your nails in full cover neon is a power look and we’re here for it! – (Just don’t forget your glossy top coat!)
Every-time a neon collection comes out, we’ve got to admit we sometimes dread swatching them. The formulas can streaky, awkward to apply and dry matte. These neons are different (no seriously!) because of the jelly formula. They glide on easily, they’re quite sheer but they dry really quickly. With around 3 thin layers, the colour is opaque and super vibrant. Zoya’s Z-Wide brush is a real game changer for the Zoya nail polishes – application is SO MUCH BETTER! Thank you Zoya! While we used to favour OPI over brands like Zoya sometimes purely for the brush size – Zoya is back in the game and their newest colours are really worth the wait. All of the shades are really distinctive and hold their own colour which we love! No colour could be mistaken for the next. Zoya Echo is a bold jelly blue, Zoya Link is a super glossy neon lime green, Zoya Banks is a super vibrant gloss purple, Zoya Janie is a cherry tinted vibrant pink, Zoya Oakley is your zesty coral neon orange and finally Zoya Zelda is a strawberry tinted peach pink – this one sold out the quickest after first release! Another nice little touch to these new additions is the sleek white cap. The new look suits the colours well and we love all of the thought that has gone into this set of six dreamy neon shades. As with ALL neons, you will need a glossy top coat to unlock their true vibrancy. For our swatches we actually used the Halo Non-Wipe LED/UV top coat for the glossiest finish because we love the finish that gel gives and it dries so much quicker – ideal if you’re filming or taking photos like us! But with a regular nail polish you’re good to go with a classic glossy top coat. You’ll get that same finish, if you aren’t impatient like us with the drying time.

For your best Zoya Easy neon application – we advise a classic nail polish base coat such as Zoya Strengthen Your Nails – Anchor Basecoat 15ml (AN.5). Allow to dry fully before application. Whilst neons sometimes require a white base coat to bring out their true colour – these are honestly amazing just as they are. We actually kind of like the sheerness, but they’re very easily buildable and three layers is perfect. Allow to dry fully between each layer and top with your fave glossy top coat. We love OPI Infinite Shine Gel Effects ProStay Technology – Gloss (IST31) 15ml, Seche Vite Nail Treatment – Dry Fast Top Coat 3.6mL (83148) or Jessica Brilliance High Gloss Non Chip Topcoat 14.8ml.
If you are a little impatient with nail polish and can’t bear the smudges we’re totally with you! Products are out there to save you the heartache of a smudged mani and avoid the dread of re-application. Try out OPI Nail Treatment RapiDry Spray 55ml, China Glaze Fast Freeze Quick Dry 14ml (70268) or OPI Drip Dry’ Lacquer Drying Drops (27ml) to speed up drying time and reduce the nail painting stress! Once you’ve finished your mani, add a drop of cuticle oil and you’re good to go. Don’t forget to take a snap for the gram!
