When I first saw this in the bottle I wasn't sure about it. I have a lot of blue polishes but I tend to stay away from the royal blues and the baby blues as they can have the effect of making my hands look red. I thought this was a royal blue but once it's on the nail it's much more subtle and complex. It's not quite a shimmer either, but has a beautiful surface, like taffeta. Or a butterfly's wing. It's also very good under Rose of Light, the glitter from the same Muppets collection. When you put on the first coat it seems very thin and you think it will never buil,d but three coats is ample and because it isn't thick it doesn't chip easily. The perfect blue polish.
