A nail cleanser is an absolute must-have for all gel nail enthusiasts!

What is a nail cleanser?

Whether applying gel polish, builder gel, soft gel nail tips, acrylic powder or even press-on false nails, gel cleansers can always prep the natural nails for enhancement applications.

A nail cleanser can be used similarly to a dehydrator in that cleansers help remove dust and oils from your nails before gel application, ensuring a bubble-free finish and proper adhesion between the natural nails and gel polishes.

Many gel nail cleansers can also effectively clean gel from gel application brushes. They help dissolve uncured gel without damaging the bristles (unlike acetone).

What is a gel cleanser for nails?

You can also use a nail cleanser for gel nails to remove the inhibition layer on top coats (unless they are no-wipe gel top coats). This sticky layer remains after curing and is a byproduct of the polymerisation process when exposed to air. You can use a lint-free wipe to remove this tacky layer after the final gel coat to achieve a high-shine finish.

You can even use a gel nail cleanser to remove the sticky layer before applying a gel liner to create nail art. Finish your gel manicure cleanse with a cuticle oil to rehydrate your nails.
