Using gel polish without a gel base coat is a big no-no in the nail industry. The gel colour won't adhere to your nails properly and will leave your manicure chipped and peeling, so never skip this step!

Why do you need a gel polish basecoat?

So, why is a base coat for gel nails so important? Gel base coats are the best way to bond your gel nail colour to your nails. They create a sticky layer after curing to which your gel polish can adhere, preventing chips and lifting and making them last longer. But it's not just about sticking power. Base coat nail gel also protects your natural nails from staining from the gel colour. They also smooth and even out the surface of your nail for a more even gel polish application.

Gel base coats also give your nails flexibility and movement, allowing your nails to bend without chipping the gel colour. Apply one layer of base coat before your gel colour for flawless manicures every time.
